W30 oil filter.......

Im back...lol... there is a "four bolt plate " on right side of engine...just behind the magneto, and a few inches down. I assume it may be where the oil filter should be. Do you think it actually may never have had one? Hmmmm...

Here is a photo of mine and it is above mag. The filter inside is a washable filter made of brass or copper.

(quoted from post at 16:53:15 08/01/17) finally a hit! Thanks... but I don't have one.

All W30's came with an oil filter. The F20 and F30 use the same one. They mounted to the engine with 3 bolts on a raised boss put there just for the filter. If you have the mount finding and installing should be easy. If your missing the mounting boss your engine has been changed to an earlier block from a 10-20. The W30 and F30 used the same engine and engines were diverted from the line to one or the other. Thats why the serial numbers don't match the tractor numbers. My F30 block was freeze damaged beyond repair, This is the W30 block I replaced it with. All the internals except 2 rods and sleeves are the originals.

This is my W30 which someone removed and bypassed the oil filter you can see the top 2 mounting bolts, the third is just visible under the bypass loop.

no, its between the #2 and 3 spark plug above the mag. as i noted last time. and the rad drain is 3/8 npt as i told u it was 1/2 " . the oil filters came out on the 22-36 and later 10-20's. so the w-30 had to have a filter.

I will go take some pics....and try to post - almost dark now. I don't see your rod and lever that go to the mag for timing?

here is what I have.....where can I get the canister and lines or what I need to put one on?

Looks like your filter was there but has been removed. Used filter housings are out there. The F20 F30 and W30 and the regulars that have them use the same filter housing (probably others too) so a filter housing from any of them would work. The F12/14 has the same canister but the mount is way different.

okay...if it ever did have one ; so does your tractor have the "kill/timing rod that connects to the mag? I don't see it in the pic. Also do u have a temp gauge? Mine does not.
