Do you think you would?

saw that a couple years ago,..I've never owned a piece of equipment that had hydraulics that would pick it's self up

Equipment is definitely out there that can pick itself up. Maybe it's outfitted with larger-than-normal cylinders? But you can bet there's more there than meets the eye!

That is advertisement. However I was in London at least 15 years ago and saw a small excavator working on top of a building. When I asked about how it got there was told it climbed, that was a common practice when renovating apartments.

It was a demo that they carried all over Europe. The only difference in that excavator and standard model was the quick attach plate. I think it stayed around for several years I know I saw him do it twice at different equipment shows overseas .

(quoted from post at 11:58:38 07/28/17) But why ?

Because people are still talking about it. That's what sells, even if we're not the direct buyer.

I too saw that a while back. Being an operator for the last 20 years I would never think of it. Way too many things to go wrong. I have been in plenty of hairy situations without having to try a stunt like that ! Not much fun but they sure do get the adrenaline going !

That would never be allowed on the USA. Osha would ship us it down - he wasnt wearing a hard hat. *
