Just recently I lost a box of 3/4"x10 sleeve anchors. Racked my brain for 2 weeks searching through 3 possible locations and asking other people if they had seen it. On Saturday when I found it right under the box of nails that I had set on top of it it was like Christmas!

Looking and not seeing goes right along with this funny. Look all around and then suddenly it right where you were looking. why did I see that there, I looked there before. I can't explain it. gobble

Good grief, how I resemble this thread!!

...Is it possible to have "too much" junk in your brain for it to work right?

....I wonder what's involved in formatting MY hard drive!

A while back I cut some wood branches to use in a project. I forgot where I put them so yesterday I cut some more. I put these in the shop where I can see them.

btdt,,.. 2 many times ,,.just yesterday ,,.doing a field repair on a rake ...took a phone call. set a bearing on the floor bd of the 430 ,.. so it would not get dirt in it,.. could not recall where i set it down ,, wasted 5 minutes lookin ,...

My mom was a good example of that. She was always putting things up so she would not lose them. After she died, I got the pleasure of cleaning out 62 years worth of not throwing anything away. I also found a LOT of things she put away where she would not lose them and never found them again.

So many times. I bought a rough running gear last spring and took the hubs off to relube the bearings. Put the 20 wheel bolts in a container that just disappeared. Usually I find lost items while looking for something else that I can't find.

I have a habit of saving extras of special little clips, retainers, pins etc. You know the ones that have a tendency of flying off into another galaxy when you dismantle something intricate.
Problem was I could spend a week trying to remember where I put the extras.
Finally bought a tray that has about 50 little compartments which fits nicely in one of the toolbox doors.
All was well for a dozen or so years, it was like a direct path to the land of "where did I put that thing" until I ran out of space in the tray.
Time to buy another or clean house on this one.

Thanks Jon. I really liked the one where the message was, Happiness is when I walk into a room and remember why I am there.

I keep finding the stuff I was looking for last year, this year, as in looking for stuff I need now.......

Grrrr.

That pic looks a little like the Jolly Green Giant lost his can opener? I live a couple water sheds over from the actual valley he came from.....

Or hide a gift - so the recipient doesn't find it...

Then YOU cannot find it either - for like TWO years.

Uhmmmm, I've done that. More than once. :(
