Randy, how's the grain?

I'll be thinking of Randy this afternoon as our crew goes out to cut and shock for Junkshow. Last year you said you had a poor enough crop of grain that you didn't have to thresh at your show. I'm wondering if this year's is better.

I don't know about Michigan but there is going to be a lot of feed wheat around here. I see very little touched to this point and usually it is done by this point of July. Oats don't look that good but I have not traveled all that far either this summer.

Central Mn looks good for grains. Junkshow grain has a mid thigh stand and has come this far without lodging. The Forest City show is on sand and the stand is shorter, but looks good. I haven't gone into either field to see what the heads look like.

I know that SD, part of ND, and northern Iowa have been short of moisture and likely have poor crops.

RayP is the one who cuts for the local show with the binder. He said the other day he had it there getting it ready. My oats went in late and are marginal. Not gonna set any new records.
