The neighbor up the road is an excavator,,in between when his backhoe his home,I have been hiring him to catch wet spots in the fields and get the springs piped into the pond,The last thing we did before I got sick was lower the pipe that crosses the driveway. The original owners of the property, put the pipe to high,,and half the field behind the pipe used to flood ot in heavy rain seasons. In years like this, half of the field would be yellow, and sometimes die, depending on the seasons rain.We dug out theold pipe ,put a new pipe much lower. Then went up to a spring in the field and piped that towards the big pipe.Left sort of a small retention pond in front of the big pipe that crosses the driveway,I was planning on picking rocks and placing them in the retention pond,I got sick so there was just a dirt hole there for a while now. My friend who does the stonework really gave me some surprise!!!!Him,,and the young fellow that helps him brought a load of stone .They made the retention pond form me as a surprise!Look what they did!!! In a year like we are having, with all the rain,in the past this field would have been yello 20 or more feet behind where I am standing for sure. When we drove down the driveway,,I couldnt believe my eyes.He loaded up a whole dumptruck load of stone, brought hem there,,and placed them!I called him,,and said,,how much do I owe you?My friend said,,are you kidding?? He said,,,do you think I would forget all the times you helped me? i m a grown man,,but it brought tears to my eyes!!!!

Larry, ain't it nice to have good friends. You have a lot of friends here as well that you have never met. Me included.

You are being rewarded with what you have sowed over the years. All us folks would like a neighbor like you. Had a neighbor pass away around 90 years old two month ago. The biggest funeral I'd ever been to. You would of thought all of his friend would of passed on by now. A soft spoken guy, was on three or four boards over the years. I think all he ever owned was Oliver tractors.

As the old saying, "What goes around, comes around". I have a good neighbor, too- his tractor is busted, and he needed to load out some compost- about a 10 minute job. I noticed my tractor was low on fuel, so I filled it up before I took it down, because I didn't want him to put in 20 bucks worth of diesel for a 10 minute job. When he brought it back, he had washed it and lubed all the zerks. He said "You threw me a curve by filling it up, so I couldn't. So I had to think of something else to do."

Then there's my other neighbor- Loaned his grandkids a sled many years ago, never got it back. Loaned his stepsons a splitting maul, didn't see it for about 3 years, and when they brought it back, the handle was in such bad shape that the next blow was going to break it. I'm sure they brought it back so they wouldn't have to put in a new handle. I had already bought a new one, so am keeping the old one in reserve in case they want to borrow it again. Actually, the patriarch is a pretty good guy, and watches my place, so I don't want to alienate him. Its his two useless stepsons, and his worthless granddaughter (all of whom live with him) who are the problem.

Now if the news would report
this....and folks learn from it
what a different place this world
would be! You are blessed with
many good friends ,I think it
speaks well if you!!

Larry, those pictures are a mirror - a mirror of what people think of you. :) P.s. - don't get rid of any of your famous blue-handle
tools just yet!
