How hot is it?

Hot enough to melt the gate! Shows 104? in St. Louis on my truck thermometer, but that might be enthusiastic since I'm not moving.

In this case you would also need to outrun the armed guard and her bullets. But if you are quick enough, then yes.

Thermometer on my front porch says it is 100 here at the Lake of the Ozarks. Plus it is very humid. Heat advisory for a good part of Missouri with a heat index of 100-110 depending on where you are

It is so hot you can smell your own sweat stink as you walk by. A popcorn fart would spontaneous combust. Your PF Keds flyer sneakers get stuck in the tar crossing the street. Your CAR gets stuck at the trafic light. Your dog wants to go out and then changes his mind and goes and uses the toilet. Your air conditioning laughs at you when you set the T stat lower. The weather man on TV starts to talk about the temperature and says ,Awwww screw it. The Ferrell cats and pigeons are sitting next to each other in the shade sharing an ice pop. The cows are out in the stream so far they are using snorkels to breath. My pop corn in the garden is starting to pop. I can go out in the garden and the Egg Plant Parmeson is ready to harvest. You want any more? This was this morning.

I am a hundred miles north of you, 96 right now.
I was trying to get the outboard off of the pontoon but gave up,too much sun.

Between 4 thermometers in different shady spots , at 3:00 pm our temp is 105* to 108 * here in mid OK. We are not to humid, 30% . Mite be hotter tomorrow, according to the weather guessers. clint

My phone says 104. Blow a hyd. hose, got a new one made. Now its to hot to unload hay(big bales). May wait till around 6 to go get another load.

106 according to the local WeatherBug station in Goessel, KS. The crops are looking a little sick - they could use a drink around here.

It was so hot in Chesapeake Va. today that the dog went to the back door to go out. I opened the door, and she looked at me and ------ right there at the door. And that is all I have to say about that.CM

90 in normally temperate western Washington. My kids had a woodcutting party today- was surprised, they lasted until about 4 PM- now everybody is watching the grandkids playing in the pool.

Grandson and I are working on reshingling a black roof here in southern MN. Temps have been in the high 80s to high 90s with humidity around 70 percent and heat index from around 100 to 105. The seal-down strips act just like contact cement -- they stick to hammers, roofing square, anything else they touch if we're not careful. I shot a touchless thermometer at the shingles that were in the sun, and they were hot enough (seriously) to kill e-coli bacteria in ground beef -- around 160 degrees. We try to keep working in shady spots as the sun moves across the sky.

Only mid 80's central iowa today. Still enough humidity to make you sweat standing in the shade. I was in Denver Co on Wednesday. In asphalt parking lot between buildings. The truck thermometer said 116. After I left out on the interstate it dropped to 102. I guess that is real unusually hot in Denver. Thermometer seems to agree with most radio stations when passing thru anywhere.

I'm not a big heat fan but I would take some of your guys 90's and 100's to get some hay made. Having a hard time getting hay or even baleage to dry at 58* and rain/fog/drizzle..

We have been running right at 98 to 104 degrees since mid June.
Just a few scattered showers for a few days.
Corn and sorghum season ending, cotton picking is getting into full swing.

I made a pot of coffee early this morning and drank a few cups. I always unplug the percolator and go back later in the day and get some more. About an hour ago, I poured a cup, and it didn't need to be stuck in the microwave to warm up. It was hotter than it was this morning. This is around 8 pm. By the way, when you do have to microwave a cup of coffee (or anything I guess in a cup) why is it that when it stops, the handle is always pointed to the back of the microwave? I have never had it stop where the handle is where I can grab it. Never.

Saturday in NE KS it hit 104 with a heat index of 116. I had baled hay Saturday morning thinking I would be done by 10 and easily have the hay picked up and unloaded by noon. All sorts of issues with the baler (first time using it) and got done baling at 1:00. Rain coming (and it did come) and it was only a wagon load so we ran out to pick it up. First time in my life I threw up from over heating. Made driving that load home a loooong trip.

Only good thing was I got a call from a guy needing about 90 bales of hay. He came and got it so I didn't have to unload it.

Set microwave to one minute. Handle should return to starting point. Set for 30 seconds, and handle will be opposite the starting point. That is how my last three have worked.

Pappy I think sometime that everything around here is backwards!! I always set mine for a minute too, but that don't work with the one I have. At 30 seconds it is still pointed to the back. Oh well, I've got a lot bigger things to gripe about.

I once saw 113 on the pickup thermometer in the wheat stubble west of Garden City Kansas. When I was driving down the road it cooled down to 110. By MIdland SD it was 115 in the stubble but the thermometer cooled to 111 when driving. But it was a dry heat. Dry heat is still HOT, open the oven door hot!

Here in Iowa we had a couple of days last week that reached 100 with humidity in the 80 range for a couple days. In my neighborhood the crops are looking amazingly good.

The thermometer showed 98 in the shade. The radio gave the heat index of 118 and the dew point at 80. You have to sharpen your knife to slice off a hunk of air.

It'sso hot Lance Armstrong tested positive for water. It's so hot the bread in the grocery stores is toasted.
