Have any of you worked with a TRANSPOO D100? It's a type of electronic "cutout" and I'm wondering what type of measurements a good one should have out of the circuit. It has 3 terminals BAT, ARM and GND (case)

Long term I'm planning to change it to a VR, but for now I'm curious as to if it's good or bad.

Thanks sparkies

Ron

As a cutout what is this supposed to be sensing? I don't know what this is. I was wondering if the "ARM" is the output that enables something based on an input like pressure, position, temperature, etc.

That's the correct photo, but it says voltage regulator which I don't believe it is for only a two=terminal device. I measure 1.48 M ohms in one direction and open in the other. Seems high R for a diode. Open from both ARM and BAT to GND. Measurement done with a Fluke 73 III multimeter on Ohms scale. I think that meter uses a 9 Volt battery for the Ohms scale.

Those numbers are the same. A million ohms is equal to no connection. so it is open in both directions. Jim

Jim, Thanks. I think I'm on the right track trying to find a leak path that slowly drains the battery. This tractor is wired wrong and I'm correcting it and adding a real regulator in place of this TRANSPOO "piece of junk"

The tractor is an Oliver 70, positive ground, 6 volt system, magneto. (It's a 1936 and owned by Farmamerica)

When you use a meter such as a Fluke to test a PN junction, make you use the diode setting rather than the ohms setting. If my memory serves me correctly, The ohms setting uses a lower voltage than the diode setting
