Fires in MT are sending us lots of smoke but Boy does it make some great sunsets, also added a couple from the barley harvest as well thought some might like to see

This time of year, spring and fall as well, when the days are longer and you don't get home from work in the dark, after dinner, I'll sit outside and watch the closing act of the day (sunset). Due to the humidity, last evening the sun looked like a pink orb and you could look at it with binoculars. I need to get a better camera to be able to capture some of these shots, the one on the phone does not cut it for these shots, but certainly is amazing for what it is and most other scenes. It does make a nice sunset, the haze.

The combine and grain truck makes a very nice power shot. Correctly lined up and just pulses with a good harvest. Excelent.

That's what I thought too,it was a good song back in the day.Nobody around here grows barley anymore.Is it yielding good?

my Yields are 1/4 to half of normal not sure what they are running for sure a guess would be 40 bpa average maybe a bit less, 2" of rain since feb just not enough to make a average crop but Hey I got something so I am happy with that many around me got nothing

Interesting, thanks for posting the pictures. Can't remember ever seeing barley, no one around me that I've ever heard or seen has ever grown barley in my lifetime.

This is a 4 row hay Barley that I sell for seed and hay for Cattle,, they love the stuff and do very well on it

25+ years ago, the rice farmers up the Sacramento Valley would burn the rice stubble. Supposed to do it when the wind wasn't blowing south. BUT, the winds changed and Sacramento and suburbs were choking on the smoke from 150 miles north.

So CARB just cut to the chase and said no more burning, just plow it under.

So the only pretty sunsets are when the forests are burning, like today!
