I had opportunity this week to attend a private function at Beaver Stadium in State College, PA home of the Nittany Lions college football team. Got this photo, inside view of the playing field, you can see the dairy barns of the university in the upper left. Its a big place, seating for 106,572, second largest stadium in the Western Hemisphere.

It doesn't show the spot near the goal line where the sideline extends out for several feet.

For those of ya'll who don't understand, once when Nebraska played Penn State the officials called a pass "complete" when replays showed the receiver was clearly several feet out of bounds when he caught the ball. That completion gave the game to Penn State, and even though it happened at least 20 years ago the shape of Penn State's field is still a standing joke in Nebraska.

Sorry, just can't get behind Penn State. In the 4 seasons from 70-73 they beat us in football a cumulative score of like 179 to 17. Just to much to forgive!!

Everyone involved - Jo Pa, his coaches, the officials (after seeing the replay), etc, etc - EXCEPT Todd Blackledge, now agree - he was out of bounds....Todd refuses, even though video evidence is overwhelming.....

I live in central PA, about 1 1/2 hours from there. But I'm a Michigan grad and have been in a bigger stadium many times ;^)

I did not go to PSU (Delaware grad). But two daughters and a bunch of my $$$ went there. It is a great place and a great community. The girls loved it and I am happy to have sent them there. They have a sheep / goat sale coming up soon. Have bought several rams there over the years. And the drive from York to State College is one of the greatest. No kidding. Especially when the leaves are turning.
