Hole in fuel line

Hello.

I just sprung a leak in a metal fuel line. What are my quick fix options? Or permanent options besides getting a new line.

Thanks.

Take it off, empty it out, braze it up. Bought an AC D17 diesel tractor one time that had more braze than steel in the injector lines. Just an indicator of how many hours the poor thing had. I finally dumped it, when reality finally set in.

What kind of pressure?

Low pressure, split a piece of hose, put a clamp on it over the hole.

High pressure, compression union, or braze it.

Thanks for the reply.

I would guess low pressure. It goes from the tank to the lift pump. It is a tiny pin hole leak.

Lack of info makes it hard for us to give you good advice. Gas or diesel what it is on and where it is. The repair could be simple or if not done right could end up with a big fire.

SO fill in the blanks what is it on where it it etc. Lack of info makes it impossible to answer your question with out maybe causing you to make a super big mistake

When I was fixing up my 43 Oliver 80, I noticed a farmers repair on the fuel line from the sediment bowl to the carb. There is about ten wraps of wire about the size of mechanics wire around the line and then they soldered it. I left it the way it was.

2X rubber fuel line, assuming it is gas. No big deal, many came from factory with rubber. If diesel, it is temporary.

(quoted from post at 05:30:30 07/22/17) It is a diesel, the line between the fuel tank and the lift pump.

The diesel will make the inside liner of the line swell, and eventually restrict flow. Sorry, no explosion or fire ball as some seem to think. just a loss of power. (sigh)

That is a low pressure line so you can either replace the line with say some new brake line or you can cut a piece of fuel line and slip it over and clamp it on big thing there is you do not want it to suck air because if it does sooner or later the engine will not like the air and die
