Starting 2 Old Tractors

I was helping start a couple of old tractors that have not run in years tonight. The Ford 6000 is bound for the U.K . We had to start the triple 4 Massey as it was parked in front of the Ford. Both took a little persuasion. Old gas in the Massey and old diesel in the Ford. Flat tires and lost hyd oil on the Ford which it needed as the front end loader was on the ground. Got a couple of poor photos but eventually there will be a youtube video to watch.

Dad bought one of the first 6000. The SOS was junk. Ford recalled it, gave him a newer 6000. Before you ship it, you may want someone to service the SOS.

Apparently the 6000 did not have a great reputation although this one seems to be ok as a front end loader tractor. My brother moved a lot of dirt with it when building up the site for the shed years ago. Yes, the chloride has rusted that rear rim up pretty bad but as long as it can get itself onto the trailer everything will be fine. Hopefully it is going to a collector who will fix it up and enjoy it.

(quoted from post at 10:06:27 07/19/17) Every time a Ford 6000 Commander goes away, we're all the better for it.

Well somebody in England thinks it is worth shipping all the way across the ocean so there must be a few 6000 fans out there somewhere. I have to say that is one smooth running diesel engine.
