Hello all from Iowa. Guys, I know I'm off the topic of tractors, but I am hoping someone can answere my question.

I am looking at a NEW Holland 510 manure spreader in fair shape. Fairly priced. I was told back in the day these were sold with a lifetime warrantee free replacement of sides and floor. Later changed to a 10 year on later models. Is this true? I have heard it's printed in the owners manual if anyone has access to one to look up and verify.

Has anyone any experience with This? Is Ford NEW Holland still honoring this, or how to get the warranty fulfilled?

I plan to ask a local dealer, but would like to go in knowledgeable.

Thank you.

The warrenty only applies to the original owner. You should craw under the spreader and check the axle. NH had the axles mounted in thin steel that had a problems with rusting out and falling apart. Local welding shop has rebuilt several with that problem. Tom

Well the first issue is that the NH 510 spreader is more than ten years old IRC. Also the warranty was to the original purchaser not the fifth guy down the line. NH figured that more guys traded sooner than every 10 year so that drove the warranty not them thinking the spreaders would last ten years with out rusting out.

So if the sides are shot then it is on your dime to repair them. I would not buy a newer New Holland spreader they did not last as well as the competitors. Rusted out axles and paddles flying off the beaters became common. I would look at Kuhn/Knight, Hagadorn, or Pick Rite. All better quality than the NH spreaders.

Thanks guys for replying. I sure was not expecting to receive these, rather hoping it was a possibility. I realize it's an old machine, but lifetime should mean lifetime should it Not? I will definitely check the axles out. I appreciate the heads up on this. Its only $500 for use on my hobby farm. So it doesn't need to be great just usable.

Heck if I could get those parts under warranty why not, always worth asking.
Thanks again
