Farmall Super C - Allis Chalmers

What Allis Chalmers model tractor would have been the direct competitor to the Farmall Super C, back in the day - when they were both new?

Just curious.

Thanks,
Bill

Early 50s, AC had the model B, CA, WD. B went into 1957, C was replaced with the CA 1950-1958...WD replaced by the WD45 in Spring, 1953, although several changes were made to the WD in 52-53. Most notable were constant mesh transmission with curved shift lever in Fall, 1952, and later battery ignition. Some WDs were still built in Spring 53, when the WD45 came out. I find it interesting that for the most part, AC had only two major tractors in production in those years...CA and WD45. Very limited compared to other brands.

dad had a super c so i more or less grew up on it, several neighbors had ca allis there both great tractors, wouldnt say eather one was better that the outher, both was really easy on fuel,
