I am thinking about buying a 2 inch irrigation pump that is ran by the hyd but I was wondering if the lift all system can run it all day long all summer it will be running about 5 rain birds

Liftall pump is limited in flow and reservoir capacity heat will kill pump running constantly. Is there a way to change it pto operation.Scott

I agree with Scott. It is a first generation technology. PTO or belt pulley pump is the way to go. Or better yet, direct mechanical drive. It would save you in expenses and fuel for a summer easily. Jim

I would never consider a hydraulic drive irrigation pump... why? Irrigation pumps for tractor operation are PTO driven... much more efficient. If you are running a tractor on an irrigation pump, whether it
is a Farmall H or something made in 2017, get a Murphy switch to shut it down in case of low oil pressure or high engine temp.

Make sure you are looking at an irrigation pump, and not a sprayer pump. They are two different things. Also, work with a professional to size a pump to what you want to do. There is some math involved in
getting the right GPM, pressure, power requirement, etc matched to what you want to do. How many GPM will your nozzles take? What kind of operating pressure do you need? If you can't answer those questions,
keep your money in your pocket until you can.

Unfortunately, it is more important in the long and short run to match those numbers than "under a $1000 dollars." :)

Good luck.

Not sure on your water supply but if from a
pond or a ditch why not just buy a 2" trash
pump and use that. I've been irritating
that way for years. We pump from the creek
to water our nursery stock. We use the
$200.00 harbor freight pumps. Usually get
atleast a year of daily use before the grit
wears the pump out. Just a thought..

The H hydraulic system will not work as it will overhead real fast and fail. Have seen it tried on a manure pump with an M.

I thought it might run it at possibly a quarter speed or so and trying that would overload the pump as everybody else is saying buy making the oil too hot and if you get that oil hot it is likely to dammage seals ond so on so is not dammaging seals runing the tractor. As the pump is part of the tractor. Would not damage the engine.
