Super A hydraulics not working

I asked this question before, got some answers but still not working. We parked the tractor w/front blade about 2 years ago with the blade raised. Started it up about a month ago and hydraulics dont work, blade is still raised , but the rock shafts wont move. I changed the hyd. pump, put some air pressure on the hyd. tank to force oil into the pump , but still nothing. I hit the rock shafts with a 4 lb hammer to try a jar it, but still dead. I need new ideas !

If I remember right it is power up and gravity down so good chance you have some rust built up some place which has cause it to lock up in the up position. Adding some weight to the blade a bit at a time may help. Or you may have a control that while you do move it does not move inside where it needs to and that will cause the same thing

Think my Super C is the same set up/ whenever I've had the hyd. apart it's been a problem bleeding it. My pump has about an eighth inch pipe plug in the top covering a spring and ball if I remember right. I take the plug out and pump hyd. fluid in it with an oil can, then work the levers while the air bubbles out, maybe repeat a couple times/ tighten plug and start tractor and see what happens. I doubt if your cylinders have rusted, those old leather boots are usually pretty oily. If you bleed it that way keep an eye on that spring, it's going to pop out if you move those levers too fast.

I agree, if it's all the way up, it's not going to try to raise it any more.

Something is stopping it from coming down under it's own weight.

That can still mean you have a major rust problem and if the hyd tank went dry from sitting that means condensation and water which can/will cause problems like your having

I would think your problem is more likely to be the valves that control the rockshafts, not the pump.I don't know how the valves work, but they are in the resevoir along with the rockshafts.Did you hear the pump straining when you tried to operate it?Mark
