We have a small tractor club in the suburbs and the car shows let us join in sometimes, anyway I'm coming back from a car show a few towns over and my tractor stumbles and dies. Well as I'm sitting there a gentlemen and his wife walk from the house across the street. It turns out he's another owner of an old tractor that I know. It was just luck I broke down right in front of his house. I had no idea that's where he lived. So after some chatting about old tractors he diagnoses that the points had slipped and weren't opening at all. He went to the garage and got a feeler gauge and we set the points again and the tractor started right up. It couldn't have worked any better. I think I'm going to start carrying a few more tools with me so I can pay it forward.
