i have a 14ft truck box that has a wooden floor. I wanna haul some manure. what could i cover the wood with, that will help let the manure slide out easily? I have always thought plastic but no idea where to buy it.

Big contractor rolls of plastic at the box stores Lowes , Home Depot . etc. Double it up and the plastic will slide on plastic.

If you use plastic, how will you remove it after you dump manure? Cardboard will eventually decompose.

I haul horse poo with metal dump trailer, noia problem dumping.

Why not put a little sand or sawdust in bed before you load manure?

Cover bed with something you can mix in with manure , not work trying to remove it.

For many decades manure spreaders were made with wood floors and wood sides, they cleaned out fairly well. Before loading, try wetting the wood down with water or a release agent like diesel fuel (used on plywood concrete forms). The wood will release better and absorb less liquid from the manure.

If you need to protect the wood box from the manure, can you find another truck with a steel bed to use? Lining a truck box with sheets of 1/8 or 1/4 inch thick UHMW polyethylene will be expensive, check McMaster-Carr, www.McMaster.com , for ball bark prices. If you lay a tarp or a plastic sheet on a dry wood floor without fastening the liner to the box, there is a good chance the liner will slide out with the load the first time you dump a load. Then you will have to dig the liner out of the dumped load of manure.

Bran muffins? Prune juice? Metamucil? :D

Sorry! I don't have a good answer or experience, but a wise-crack seemed appropriate! Putting down some old tin roofing sounds like it would work to me!
