Dump/winch battery charging circuit

Is there need to do anything to prevent probems in charging circuit on a 2004 F-250 with factory tow package? Secound truck is an old medium duty that I'm concurned has no charging provisions built into factory electrical although #4 pin on 7 way plug has 12v +. Someone recently posted a clean way of wireing in a relay so that charging wire disconnect's when winch/dump is operated. It must have been in a thread without dump trailer in title because a search didn't turn up the post I'm talking about. Can anyone stir me to it or offer advise? I understand relays, spst, dpst,no,nc and other elect jargon.
I'm aware most people unplug 7 way but I also know they also sometimes forget to unplug.

I have a 2006 F-250. got to the owners Guild book look at page 208 for reference on locating number 301 full ISO relay Trailer tow battery Charge. You might have it blown out and no good thus would not charge up the battery on trailer unit.

Now if we are talking about running a wire to charge up battery on trailer with an old ford like in the 80's I use to do it but I need to find my notes on this.

I wired the 7 way plug on my 2007 GMC. The positive connection on my dump trailer went bad, so I just used a 2 way plug and wired it form the +12v wire going to my truck 7 way and ran it back to the dump trailer battery. I use the same 2 way plug on my tractor to charge battery when I'm pulling it with tractor.

I can very easily disconnect the wire when I dumping or simply turn off the truck or tractor. Keep it simple, you don't need a relay. I also put a 20 amp circuit breaker in line with my +12v charging wire on trailer. Never needed it, but can't be too careful. I also installed a 20 amp circuit breaker on the +12v wire on the truck and tractor.

All you have to do is pick it up on that pin then back on the trailer is put a 10 amp circuit breaker in the line. As soon as you begin to dump or winch it will trip the breaker and not load the small wire. After things go back to normal the breaker will close and charging continues.

That's an interesting idea. Would recharge rate not exceede 10 amps after a hard work out? Repeated tripping take's a toll on ac breakers, are dc breakers unaffected?

put it back the way it was from factory, dont add plugs or extra wires, circuit breakers, thats just a cobbled up mess!!

I wasn't about to replace the 7 wire pigtail on dump trailer. No biggie running a second wire which I need for my farmall. Farmall has no 7 wire plug. Very simple solution. Same 2 wire plug on tractor and truck. The +12v on the 7 wire on truck is still there for implement trailer.

If you know anything about electricity, it's not cobbled. It's a simple solution and no need for a relay to disconnect truck from trailer when dumping.
