7120 hay spear

Hello, I am a newbie at this tractor thing and i have maybe a simple question... This morning I put a hay spear on the 3 point of a case 7120, the problem is that it does not pick up the round bale correctly, when it picks it up it picks it up at an angle that lets the round bale slide off. it picks up the front of the bale but not the rear leaving the rear of the bale just an inch or two off the ground.
How can I correct this.
Thanks

If you have multiple holes for the top link on the tractor side you need to try a lower hole. That will pull the spear forward more as it raises and should raise the back more. Also some attachments have the top link hole to close to the lift arm pins. This dimension needs to be taller/further apart to make the implement rock up when lifted.

I messed that up. I did shorten the top link but now it is at such an angle it is basically going in to the very top of the round bale and not picking it up. This is a cat 2 has spear..is it maybe too small? also with the top link shortened its almost like the 3 point is not going down all the way.
Thanks again

JD/Lyndon, I dropped the top link to the lower hole and adjusted the top link and it is picking the bale up somewhat evenly, a whole lot better than it was, I do not think I can adjust the top link any shorter because of the angle it is at now but I can move the bales with out them dragging or sliding off.
Thank you for your help guys.

We had this problem years ago measure from the center of your bottom of your hitch to the top of
the top link then measure your bell stabber and I has to be within a half an inch or two

I will use this and get it as close as I can.
Thank you

There are a number of adjustments between all the way out and all the way in.

What you are shooting for is having all three arms moving in parallel to each other. Then the spear will go up evenly. You might need to drill a new hole in the bale spear or extend the top link bracket to achieve that.

I was actually looking at extending the bracket on the hay spear after talking with every one. It is pretty close right now but not quite there and I think this may resolve the issue.
Thank you for the help and kind of reassuring what I was thinking.
