PTO would not work and found an repaired hydraulic line that actuated the clutch. Young man that owns tractor wondered if he should replace clutch plates. I think they look fine, but wanted to ask the experts. They do not look worn to me..

if it was the actuater line that failed to engage the clutches , unless you see sumthin we cant ,,.. from what the pix show , it looks to be good to go . BUT , I
am .not familiar with how much of a headache those clutches are to get swapt ,,. soif it is a tractor split or a real pain?? conventional reasoning would suggest new discs would be a good idea

From looking at them, they look good. The steel discs are what usually cause trouble, if they show signs of overheating, blue/brown areas, they may be warped. If warped the PTO will tend to not disengage.

Depends on how the hydraulic line failed. If it was a clean break, failed completely, not much chance the discs were damaged. If it was a small leak that caused the clutches to loose holding power, and they ran slipping, there may be damage.

The dealer or someone with a shop manual could give the wear limits on the discs and warpage limits for the steels.

Check all discs and plates for flatness, if none are warped I'd use them. Any heat damage will warp BOTH the discs and separator plates. Also check the clutch drum plate snap ring area, if any cracks are seen replace it. Had one fail once years ago, assembly came apart when the drum broke apart and complete ring area broke away. Here's a Multi-Power tip, when replacing the discs use the PTO clutch discs. They wear better than the original 100 series MP discs do, and shift firmer also..
