I found a lowered houred 5740 as a replacement for mine possibly. What do you think about the 6060? What's the "new" style engine like? No problems or any specific years to look for if I went for a 6060? Thanks

I have an L6060, bought in Jan 2016.

The engine is TIER IV and has a DPF but does not use DEF. 53 PTO HP at, IIRC, 2,700 RPM. No issues so far.

I use mine to pull a HD 6' rotary cutter. It's my first round tractor and, being a hydrostat, is ideal.

Love it but it's thirsty.

I wish it steered a bit faster. Sometimes I cannot crank it fast enough for how I use it.

Replacing an 5740 I would assume you are talking about a "M" 6060 and not the L series. That being said the M6060 is a tried ant tested V3307 block that now is CR TE4 . Tier four engine. We probably have 12 to 15 out in our three dealerships. No real problems that I know of. I also looked one KUBOTA TOP TOPICS and saw no reported problems. 66 gross hp. with 56 at the pto. Hydraulic shuttle and I think you would like it.

I need that smaller L frame since it gets hauled to job sites frequently. We would be lost without a hydrostat so it's a must. We load a lot with ours. Last two have had it.

Thank you. We're on tractor #5, usually put a couple thousand hours on and then trade. I like this 5740 so much I've held on for over 3000 hours. I'm surprised our loader has stayed together. I bought an oversized bucket on day one and it definitely gets used. I think one like yours would be perfect, just wasn't sure on the new engine stuff. It slows down to regenerate?

It has regenerated more than once since I've owned it but I have never even known that it did until I looked at the LCD display and discovered that it had.
