Gasket cement

There is a Permatex gasket remover but it does not work well because gaskets are stuck good and usually have to be mechanically scraped off. I make aluminum scrapers and I can push hard. The stuff does not soak into a hard gasket.

I've always carefully used a gasket scraper or the fattest flat tipped screw driver that I could find. Thing I never understood is why there was a Permatex 1 that requires a cutting torch and dynamite to get apart. Oddly enough last Sunday I was in Walmart and meant to grab a tube of Permatex 2 to use to replace a thermostat on one of the Deeres, but they didn't have 1 or 2. They had a wide variety of flavors, so I just moved on and picked up a tube from the auto parts store by me.

you would be happier to use permatex high tack gasket sealer, very easy to remove gaskets without tearing them. been using that stuff for over 35 years. gasket cement is from the old days, and i do know its a pain to remove gaskets with that stuff.
