OT- Head Gate Question

I"m looking for suggestions or plan sources for making a movable cattle-size chute for mounting a head gate. I"ve got an big heavy head gate to use, and was thinking if I could make some sort of chute that could be picked up by a skid steer, etc. and moved around. I"d use free-standing gates for funneling the cows down to the chute/gate. Maybe strong beams at the four corners with 2x6 in between for access to the cow and some sort of floor? Just looking for useful ideas. Thanks.

I know I won't be able to explain it. But my friend has a ho-made cattle working pen. It is 12 ft. Wide and long enough his tractor and loader will fit in. Close the front gate on the loader bale forks. And the rear gate on the 3point bale forks. Can lift and go. This pen has 6 in pipe for runners and 4" pipe for corners. Inside has crowd gates that one catches and pushes the next one. On the front side on left he has a 16' crowd walkway with a factory made catch shute. On rear two 18' gates hinged together and hinged to pen. Two on each side. Two can move and set up in a hr or less. Also quite a few pin together corral gates. It has other walk gates as needed. But the heavy pin holds everything together and still.

I don't know about any other areas, but here in Nebraska and from what I saw in central Kansas, you can buy an old squeeze chute for a couple hundred bucks. Put a modern head gate on it for another 500 and you have a pretty simple set up.

I was given a working chute made from heavy pipe with a homeade head gate on the end, with the gate opening to the front. It did not have a floor. My theory is that if a cow is in the gate it could push against the ground and move something around. Previous owner chained it to posts. I welded supports in and floored it with oak lumber so the cow would be working against itself if it pushed against anything. I nailed 1 x 3 strips of oak cross ways so the cow wont slide down in the chute. I bought a Prifert head gate which can be opened all the way so that when the cow is released it follows a removeable chute made from corral panels to go back to the pen. Has worked well so far.
