Where is there a nice secluded place to rent a cabin in the woods for a few days? Would like to do some hiking and some fishing, nothing fancy.

Not sure where you are at. My wife and I have rented from "the quiet place" it's in the finger lakes of New York. Nice houses. Lots to do besides wineries ya just gotta look around a bit.

Michigan Upper Peninsula if you like woods, water and waterfalls. We went last June for a few days to beat the heat. I'd like to do it again for a little longer.

Poudre Canyon, Colorado. I suggest contacting <a href="http://www.bighorncabins.com/index.html">Bighorn Cabins</a> in Rustic. It's been about 18 years since I last rented from them, but they had their own cabins plus a number of privately-owned cabins they manage.

ReserveAmerica handles cabins in state parks across the country. They're a good deal but you need to reserve up to a year in advance. I've stayed in a few in PA and FL, really enjoyed it.

Went mushroom hunting last week for 5 days.
Had a tick on me at least once per day
except the last day I was there, only
because we didn't go in the woods. Burned a
20' circle in the grass around our campfire
pit. Buddy set his shoes next to his truck,
put his waders on to check out the river,
decided against fishing there, came back to
the truck less than 5 minutes later and had
3 ticks crawling on his shoes. Pretty thick
in N MI this year

Big Ridge state park is nice. A lot of hiking trails and a lake to fish on.
We went on a trail to where my ggggggreat uncle was killed.
