Ford 5610 3-point adjustment lever stuck

Any idea why the 3 point adjustment lever (raise/lower) would become stuck? Maybe stuck is not the right word, it moves but really
hard and actually bends the lever. Took the lever off and tried with a wrench, same deal so it's not the friction assembly.

No clue what changed other than the tractor sitting for awhile in the barn like it does every winter. Seem to remember it being a
little hard to move when I took the mower off last fall to park it but now I can barely move the 3 point up/down without bending
the lever!

Not sure what to take apart next, squirted some liquid wrench on the shaft, maybe that will help...

Welcome questrov!

I can't speak for your exact model, but most likely the shaft is rusted where it goes through the case.

If you can get the penetrating oil to get where it need to be, it may free up with some working back and forth. Otherwise it will need to come apart, be disassembled, cleaned and lubed.

Have you checked the transmission/differential oil for water? Crack the drain plugs after it has sat overnight, see if any water comes out. If so, there may be condensation in the upper parts of the case that could be rusting the shaft in place.

There is a Ford board below, they might can give a more exact answer.

Given that it moves... I doubt it's the shaft rusting up. I can't say that with 100% certainty... but it would not be my expectation. I suspect something is not right inside with one of the springs or system selector levers. If you can't free it by removing the friction hub and working a good penetrant in there... and working it with a wrench.. then I'd say you're going to have to pull the lift cover and see what's up..

Rod Lets hope you don't have a cab...
