I need to replace my disk I have a Massey Ferguson 2705 ( 134 hp ) 2wd with duals , tire are not loaded. What size and model do you guys pull with similar set up?

Makes all the difference in the soil. I sand you won't pull a 21 foot disc! They cut in too deep.

I had a 21' IH 480 on a 1086 for years. When I went to a 2294 front assist I went to a 25' 496. Both tractors about same HP as you are
talking.

It all depends on soil type and terrain . where i am at the 1066 with loaded tires , direct axle mount duals the 470 18 footer is all she wants , not due to Hp. but traction in the hills . The 1066 is tweaked big time , as long as it can get ahold of the ground thingss will happen . on flat ground it could handle 20-22 ft. easy . It is the going up hill that kills ya.

Got to have pretty good tires if running on 7.5 plus percent slope. You can have all the power in the world but if the tires are slipping................................ Of course some guys will go out and buy a (used) tractor double the size needed just because of the operating weight it would pull the implement with bald rear tires. Tire condition and if buying new tires tread style are so important for quite a few field operations.

Thanks guys. There is not more than 20 feet elevation change on the 150 acres I am farming so hills are not an issue. I was thinking 18-20' would be fine. Now if I can just find one in this part of the world that don't cost an arm and a leg I'll be set.

In my area a 21 ft would work well but it might be a little much for you if your inner tires have no fluid..

Pulled a 20' ih 490 running 6" deep all
over with a dualled 4430 with fluid
that's still set @ factory smoke. Would
Dyno 135. Lots of hills here. 4455&7820
don't know it's back there.

20 ft IH 475, nice medium duty disc does a good job and they can be bought really worth the money. 7in spaceing for finish work , 9 in cuts a bit better
