Baling hay for the first time this year

Cut 12 acres Wednesday with my IH 385 and I&J Sickle mower. Baled 3 acres up for baleage yesterday, and finishing up today. I think this may be the earliest I've ever gotten out making hay...been an early spring here thankfully.

Anybody else making hay yet?

here in so. indiana I have a neighbor who cuts cover crop rye for hay. He mowed some yesterday, but we are supposed to
get heavy rain the next three days.

We had a hint of snow here in Minnesnowta this week with some chilly weather (40 maybe) since Tuesday. There will be no hay around here for a while yet. Been raining every few days, or for several days in a row, can't get out to plant. Late next week SUPPOSED to be in the 60's then on...maybe.

Here in N. TX. good that the grass isn't ready yet. April was forecast by OFAlmanac to be +2 and I think they hit their mark. Too much
water to mess with it now. They said May thru July will be about normal. That'll work.

My alfalfa here in northwest Iowa is about 12" tall and looking great but we have had a couple of nips of frost the last two mornings so that might set it back a bit. Usually we don't see any hay cut in this area till the first of June at the earliest, sometimes the middle of June.

No hay in THIS part of Minnesota - we've got several inches of snow on the ground!! Is supposed to start warming up this weekend, so keeping fingers crossed that the grass will reappear soon.

Got 6" of fresh white stuff on the ground here. Need some warm weather to get things greening up.

Chomping at the bit to start green chopping some feed, then eventually wrap some baleage.

Location? The Omaha, NE area has an early spring, but very little corn has been planted yet. We have a chance of snow on Sunday.

hah! The perspective makes it look way steeper than it is! Between that and what I cut Friday, I'll have 22 acres made or about to be.
