Don't you just hate it when tube stem breaks off

So I have known that I have a slow leak on one of my 841 Ford rear tires. Been trying to waiting till I catch up with other things to fix it. So the other day a guy calls wanting a bale of hay and that is the loader I have to use to load the big bales. Go to air it up and get it aired up and pull the chuck off and I hear this hiss. Touch the valve stem and it just pops off the tube. So now I have a guy coming to get hay and the tractor has a rear flat. Go out and look at it when the guy gets here and it look good enough to load a bale but when I start it and the 3 point goes up with the blade on it it goes way down. Figure what the heck It pick up the bale and back out of the hay barn and then have him drive under the bale. Got it loaded up and have the fluid draining right now. I do not plan to put fluid back in if I can help it.

That's the pits, went to air up a tire on the trailer the other day same thing happend the whole valve came off. now the tire is not that great I am going to try and see if I can get two good used 15" tire Might be near impossible.

At least you had luck, it was just bad luck!!

I hate it when that happens too. I've never had a good experience putting new valve stems back on.

In a pinch, you can air up the tire enough with a blow gun attachment and then hammer a clean piece of round tapered wood in to plug the leak until you have time to fix it properly. This would save from putting the weight of the tractor and bale on a flat tire as well.

It is a rear tire so the weight of the bale is up front so it has a bit of lift on the rear. Only had to back about 30 yards out of the barn then stop and the guy could then back up under the bale. Being filled with fluid is what makes doing any thing hard

Not the problem. This tire and tube have been on this tractor for over 20 years and up till now never cause a problem. Tire on the other side is the same age both where put on new when the engine was rebuilt by what was the local Ford dealer who is now out of business. The tire on the other side went flat a few years back and I put in a new tube and that lasted maybe a week and yep was China junk. Patched the old tube and it is still holding air. Have a new tube for this one but hope it lasts better then the last one I got form this place but it was also the replacement for the tube that did not last a week

For some reason, reading the OP brought an image of having a bale spear mounted on the 3-pt to my mind. Sorry for the confusion.

just had that happen to my Bad Boy mower. Sat all winter, went flat. Aired it up, hisssss. Snaped off in my hands. Must be the season for it.

A few months ago I saw a replacement patch that has a new rubber stem in the middle of the patch. It was at a place that does tire repairs, I do not know where he got it but they must be available somewhere.

It does have a back blade on it which does not help with the rear tire being flat and the fact it has 6-85lbs suit case weights on the blade and a 150lbs wheel weight on the center link part of the blade so lots of weight behind the rear end. Have to have all that weight there due to the 6X6 bales I have that are 1500lbs plus. With out the weight on the blade the bales will lift one or both rear tires off the ground and that sure does not help with traction LOL
