I bought this "restore project".... getting along pretty good on it...just looking for ideas on a tire. It has one 13.6 and one 12.4 on the rear...both decent. I really want them to match so am looking for another 12.4 - decent. New ones are $500 plus by the time you tube em and mount em. Hate to put on one new and have one old. Any ideas? Thanks.

Watch around on places like Craig's list and or if you have a radio trading post sort of thing or also any sales papers or even auctions I have picked up used tractor tires that way from time to time

It can/will take some time Roman was not built in a day and so finding used tractor tires can be hard to do also. You also might try your local tire places that do tractor tires and tractor dealers both some times get ones in that can still be used. Shoot just north of me there are a lot of Mennonites and when they buy a tractor from a dealer the first thing they do is take off the rubber tires and put them on steel so many times a guy can find a good used tire that has not been used much at all. They cannot sell them as new but they at times are very close to being new

Where are you at?

It"s not unusual for tire stores here to have used tires. Guy pokes a big hole in one, buys two new ones and the old is available. Typically under $200, and lots of wear left in it. With time you may find the exact same, or at least similar tread design. Here, craigslist is also a good source.

If you go to a tractor tire place around looking for about anything in the 38" size they will look at you like your an idiot, and don't even want to talk to you.

Be ready to jump on any good deals you might run into, because the next guy sure is. As you noticed tires are EXPENSIVE and any good used ones get snapped up quick if the price is at all reasonable.

Save yourself from the frustrations and just get a new pair of Titans in 12.4x38. Then list the old tires for sale.

The chances of finding a used tire to match the 12.4 you already have are zero to none.

What ever you do, make sure that they are perfectly matched. I was a cheapskate and put only one new tire on my backhoe. It now it always pulls to one side. Best to buy two new tires and sell the old ones.

Plus, if you don't buy two, you'll have the correct police on your back! :D

My one requirement for tires is that they hold air! If they happen to match, that's an added bonus. I don't have an extra grand lying around either. I will be scouting for used tires at the Le Sueur swap meet this weekend!

Not in my area. I have found a good many used ones that way over the years. A lot may depend on where yo ulive

A lot depends on if your in an area where there is a lot of farms and tractors of if your in say a place like Kansas city. Where I am it is common to see a used tractor tire laying in the old tire pile
