Looking at buying a white 4-150 just down the road. Tge guy was open and honest about the issues it has. Biggest thing is the clutch is slipping (oil is leaking into the clutch) He went on about what a crappy seal it was that he put in. Tractors also has 3 cylinders that are leaking or totally shot. Also fuel tank has a leak. He started it up, I thought it ran good. Tach shows 4200 hrs on it. He wants $5000 for it. I thought that's high( seeing as what they've been going for at auctions. Just wondering what your thoughts are? $5000 way too much?
 
Too much in that kind of shape. One just sold here about a week and a half ago,good home,duals,working AC,nice as you'll find,brought $7500.
In the shape you describe,I'd be hesitant to give $2000 for it.
 
Thanks for that bit of info. Yah the highest I was gonna pay was $3000 . But was that tractor $7500 can or U.S . I'm from Canada.
 
If you need an affordable working tractor to actually USE move on. QUICKLY.

That being said, I've always wanted one as a "toy".
 
There was a nice 4-180 on CL just a few miles south of me for $6000. I just looked it up,the ad said it's sold. Looked nice,had duals. Ad said nice field ready. Royse had tipped me off to that one a few weeks ago.
 
Dad was out there, said the prices were pretty good, but also said it looked like most of the bidding was being done by his brothers and friends...
 
Yeah, his brother is a big timer just around the corner. All new stuff, no need for that old stuff. The other brother was there, he is not a farmer, and doesn't live around here, so most people didn't recognize him bidding on (up) the equipment.
