Anyone own a post hole digger like this?

Mine is missing the arms that connect to the the lift arms. I need dimensions and need to know if they're pipe or shaft. I want to adapt it to my 770.

I grew up using one of those. Most aggravating piece of equipment I ever hooked to a tractor.
From the time I was 10 years old, I would go all over the community boring holes for pasture fences for 10 cents a hole.

Look at how a modern post hole digger is mounted and copy that style hitch. It will work and be much easier to attach to the tractor.

Our neighbor still has one for a 8n. Neat
thing about them the linkage sucked in as
digger went down. But I would just use a
boom pole design. Bolt it on a little
loose in the middle.

That is a Dearborn phd. Built for Ford by
Danuser. The head is virtually
indestructible but all that pipe frame is
kinda doohicky. I had one for a few years
and it worked good but as said, it was a pia
to mount.
You need to have the under axle brackets
with the correct pins in them for it to
work. As suggested below, I would copy a
boom pole design like a modern phd uses.
Much easier to mount and will fit most
tractors with 3 point. I found a Ford phd
and then got rid of that old Dearborn to a
collector.

It looks a lot like the Ford one I've got. I've never used it. My
uncle gave it to me for taking it off a parts tractor he bought.
It was a pain to remove. I'll try to get a look at it today and
see if I can be any help to you.

Danuser has or at least had a update kit for those diggers to convert them to a normal 3 point system. Call or write them for info. They sent me stuff 4 or 5 years ago on the conversion. They were the only 3 point digger made that would drill a straight hole without moving the tractor.Continental Belten would too but it was a self contained digger.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I may just borrow one as I don't have much time to fab anything right now. I think taking a more modern approach may be best.. It already has pinched my fingers more than once just moving it around.

danuser -best made we converted ours to 3 point in a few minutes email me and I will send you pics of ours on our 550 oliver
