aNYBODY GOT AN l175? dOES IT HAVE FRONT WHEEL WEIGHTS? Are tires 4 X 12? Needing front rim for L1500-suppose to be same as L175===trying to confirm that a little before I start searching harder for an L175 rim---everybody strokes out when u say L1500 grey market tractor--no need to even try to ask a dealer if he will get u a rim for an L1500..

I assume the places we found in your last post struck out. What exactly is wrong with the rim you have? Can it be repaired? If the center is ok there is a place not to far away from me that cuts the center out and welds a new rim on. Could that work maybe?

First your best source for grey market info is--
http://www.orangetractortalks.com/

Find out what the US version is. One listing I found said it is L185, but I don't guarantee that to be fact. When ordering parts, simply order parts for the US model.

The L175 is a popular model. Check with http://www.tractorpartsasap.net/partsrequest/partsform.php for a salvage rim.

Sorry the news wasn't what you wanted to hear. But I have known Carl for over thirty years. He has always helped me when he could. But the letter from Kubota stated that the L1500 was a gray market tractor. Was not ment for the US market. Any dealer having anything to do with it could lose the dealership.I believe the 175 is also on the list. But not sure.

This is not an uncommon problem. If you go into an Onan dealer and say you need parts for your airplanes engine. They will ask you to leave. Some people use Onan engines to power. Home built aircraft. I know of two generator engines, that you can't buy parts for. Gray market engines. I tried to buy parts for an old Waukasha engine. For a hospital in Waco. Dealer told me it was a classified engine that was still under Navy control. I didn't believe him so I did some research found out it was true.

Go to the orange tractor site. Look at the gray market myth section. It explains allot. It is not that the dealer doesn't want to help. But that Kubota has ordered them not to. It also explains ways to get parts.

That would work fine-just finding someone local to do it might be a challenge--hope have found one-will keep this in mind though..

Yes, still lookomg--everywhere I check is a "sorry we cant help you" Where can I get a new outer rim to cut out and weld my center to?? Thanks
