Wild onions

I'm killing time at work so I'm doing a little posting. Who else besides where I live has trouble with wild onions. I'm in western NY. I see fields around completely green with them. Got some in my yard. I've bailed hay with them in and the whole barn smells like onions. They are tough things to get rid of. I think if we ever do have an nuclear blast the only thing left living would by cockroaches and wild onions.

I have many in my back yard. after a few mowing's you don't see them anymore. You can always let them grow up and eat them or sell them for organic non gmo LOL.

Wild onion is pretty common around our area along with wild garlic. A rotation into a crop that has a strong chemical control option on onion is suggested. There used to be 2-4D derivations that took care of it in small grains but that was many years ago. Roundup especially in soybeans does not seem to deter them much. I doubt even if you did get control that it would last very long as deer carry them in their feces which gets dropped everywhere.

I guess they're everywhere. I have a lot of them in the pasture in western Washington. They seem to go away later in the spring.
