Suggestions to show well pump on from outside shed

Neighbor has shed with well pressure tank 4' below ground & would like to be able to see when pump is on from her trailer window. I was thinking of a hole thru wall of shed with a light bulb comes on when pump on. Any ideas of how to do this?

I take it the pump is 240v? If doing this, I would use an LED light, as they have long life, are instant on, and work in all temps. Wire in a small 120v LED light; + to one leg of positive and - to negative. Any time pump comes on, so should the light. Wire in on the pump side of the pressure switch.

This how I have my system. All ya need to do is look at the gauge. Take a Sharpie and mark low and high pressures. Eazy as pie. As long as the needle is somewhere between you are in control.

I know nothing about wiring...

BUT I do know there are wireless light-alerting systems for doorbells for the hearing impaired - so maybe something like that could be wired into the well pump rather than a doorbell. And she could have the alert-light right there in the house with her (IF the signal will travel that distance).

Online I see one at Home Depot for under $30 called the Hampton Bay Wireless Table Top Strobe Door Bell Kit. It says "receiver is portable and can be moved around for your convenience".

I could wire that up in my sleep. A simple porch type light hanging on the out side of the build and then wire it up to on side of the pressure switch and if like most to ground.

old is spot on . I have done several like that for people around here. one fella wanted one light in two different locations so I used a light on both sides of the pressure switch to ground

Waiting.....waiting.....waiting...... for others to chime in on using a "ground" for the return current path.

How about needing a small light upstairs (led) to announce when the outside submersible is on.
I don't want to run 110, but an LED can fire at 5vdc. How much ac volts could be 'collected'
by wrapping a wire around the line supplying the pump. tightly wrapped! & many turns. ?
like a transformer. enough to power a dc convertor, to 4.5 or more? I know I should just try it.
Thanks.

I have a pressure gage in my utility room, I can tell when pressure is low, when pump comes on, when it shuts off, I like it like that. Can just walk by and look at it. 1/4" tubing and a gage.

Our pump is 75 feet from the house and 85 feet down. When I plumbed the house I bored holes through some of the floor joist to run a stick of 3/4 ridged copper. When the pump is running we can hear it anywhere in the house. Not loud but lets you know. Been that way for 13 years. Always know if the garden hose has been left on.

Why would anyone be fool enough to purposely run load current through the ground system? Just use a 240V lamp.
