Hi new to this site I have 2 John Deere 214 tractors .i am looking at a 212 for parts .Are they the same tractor except for the engine . Any help will be a great help. I live in New Brunswick Canada

What parts are you wanting to interchange? My guess without researching parts catalogs is most of the parts will interchange.

ould like to use wheels tires and mower deck. The 212 has a 48 inch deck and my deck is a 39 inch. My tractor is a 1985 and the 212 is a 1970. So he tells me l haven't got it home yet.its in Ontario and I am in New Brunswick.just trying to find out some stuff befor I buy it and ship it here

To Edwinpratt23, your carb float needle most likely leaks and gas went up the intake into the
egine. Go to the 9N,2N,8N board and you'll have a wealth of info given to you by some good,
knowledgeable folks.

I've swapped 210/212/214 parts around for years.
Haven't found anything that doesn't fit yet.
There are differences in the years with safety switches, the
deck engagement, manual/electric, things like that.
Also the differences in the deck lift - manual/electric/hydraulic.
Those not so much based on year, but options.
Machine shop told me the block was the same too, although
I have not verified this. I was told the 10 could be bored to
a 12 and even to a 14 if you wanted or needed to do so.
Haven't found anything that doesn't fit yet.
