Can you fit a 5.00-15 tire on a 5.90-15 rim?

Its for a low speed application... This is likely a dumb question but I'm not familiar with the "old style" of tire sizes. Does anyone know off the top of their head? Thanks guys!!!

Simple answer is yes. It is a 15 inch tire so it will fit. Will it look right maybe maybe not

A 5:00x15 tire would be an implement tire and a 5:90x15 would be more of an automotive type of tire but both would be the same size so no problem putting on, just likely the 5:00 would be a 3 rib type for tractor front end as that was a popular size there, the 5:90 could have been a multi rib implement or a car tire but all will fit. I also think there is a throwaway type spare in that size range but do not know the size number.

(quoted from post at 07:26:52 04/20/17) A 5.00-15 tri-rib tire usually uses a 3 inch wide wheel. It would look something like this on you wheel (tire stretching) not to the extreme shown in this video, but to give you a idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDJpAtlM2ZM The tire probably won't stay on, it would pop off, and go flat easy if the wheel doesn't have safety beads.

That's a pretty extreme  comparison. Shouldn't be a problem with the 5.90 rim for a 5.00x15. Here's a bit of info from MILLER TIRE>>>>> http://www.millertire.com/faqs/
