plastic mulch

i working on d getting a plastic mulch layer have in mind strawberry's some black berry and such want it to last what do any of you uses for plastic mulch seem the all different types need some for year to year and some for long lasting

Plastic will not last for any of the cane berries. We used white and black for strawberries before and that works OK if you plan to replant every three years. If you are doing PYO the plastic will get shredded by customers long before the end of the second season. We ended up giving up on the plastic and just going back to straw for the straw berries. We used a compost wood chip mix around the cane berries and then supplement nitrogen due to the breakdown of the wood chip mix.
