Too little too late,I believe I see why there were so many complaints by people starting to use Windows 10. Between me and a neighbor,we installed it on my pc today. If you take the express lane you are signing up to alow Microsoft access to and permission to use everything you do while using the program. There were two or three dozen places we had to refuse permission for Microsoft to use things I do in the future on the pc. My pc is now lighting fast. Running a bunch of tracking apps and pop ups is enough to keep the average pc busy and slow it down. Maybe that explains why people have different results. Any hoo it's done,I couldn't keep anti-virus protection without 10.

Just bought the wife an older Dell Optiplex on eBay that came with Windows 7, 250gig HDD, 4 gig RAM, and 3.0GHz processor. Is being used primarily for watching TV from Netflix and Amazon, as well as YouTube. Only paid $70 for the thing, plus another $20 for wireless keyboard. So far she likes it. Has spent most of the day looking up fabric on there. ....Maybe I shoulda thought about that a bit more first! :p

Fan is really loud while it's booting up, but then we never hear it again - not when streaming videos or surfing online. Will soon be switching the PC's over to Linux though, as I simply do not like where Windows is heading!! Still have time though, as support for Windows 7 will continue until 2020.

we had windows on our computor, involintarly recieved windows 10, dont see much difference, except it wants to update at least 1 time per month. week ago started again, first took about 10 minutes, then started again, said this is gonna take awile. ran over nite next dayalso, dont shut it off computor, going second day. called staples where we bought it, they said to call microsoft.did that and talked to indian guy, told him i heard the apple computors dont update like this, didnt say anything. asked if he was gonna fix the update thing, as im getting sick of it. he said he would, told me to turn off computor for 15 seconds, and it would go back to the previous update. well that got us into the next week and it started over again

Just switched this one over to Linux a couple of weeks ago. Works similar to older windows operation. Still learning my way around, but like it so far. No virus worries is the part I like the best. Local cornfuser guru is doing a land office business switching switching XP, Vista, and 7 users over to Linux of one sort or another now that Windows no longer supports them. Is switching a few 10 users over to Linux, too. So far, he told me he has had no complaints with the Linux systems.

I like windows 10. It's snappy. They make you update now, though. In previous versions so many people disabled updates, which meant they went without security and exploit updates. Because of that malware and viruses were a much bigger problem. The restart and forced updates may be inconvenient, but it's just trying to make the computer better and more secure.
