How do I do this??

I've never had to insult a door before, but it clearly shows that insulting the door is necessary. I'll give it a try, but how do I know if I got the desired results? Anyone have any surefire ways for insulting the door?

I use a cedar shim that I cut enough off the end so that it pushes the fiberglass insulation. Compress the fiberglass insulation when installing it until you have the cavity filled. Just like spray foam, don't stuff too much in there, as it will bulge the jamb. I'm not a fan of spray foam for insulating doors, it's messy and when or if you may want to change out the door, it all comes apart easily.

I think the panels may droop into a frowny face shape if you're really good at it, but I have not tried myself.

Whew! Well, took me a little while, and quite a few insults and maybe some cuss words, but I got it installed. It's a new sliding patio door, about 6' wide and 80" tall. And I tell you what, it says it's 205 pounds, which isn't too bad, but that thing sure is awkward trying to handle by yourself!! Anyway, at least it's in, now I just have to do the trim work to finish it up.

We'll give ya a holler when it's time to insult one for our porch enclosure project... since you're now experienced with insulting doors. LOL
