Rural King's New Tractors

By no means am I in the market, and very rarely do I even look at an off brand, but these sure do seem to be priced right. I wonder who makes them, LS?

Did some more reading, apparently they're made by TYM. Full 2 year warranty and an 8 year 3000 hour power train warranty. They seem to at least be serious about it.

Remember "Cabela's" tractors? Don't know what happened there but they disappeared. I wonder how this will affect the dealers that already carry TYM? Thanks for posting that.

Casey I read the complete thing and saw no mention of TYM .. Rural king has tried the cheap chines tractors that they had to buy back then they tried a marketing agreement with Massey and now this. LS is a Korean maker who currently makes and Markets in the us a blue tractor called LS . They also make the small New Holland and Case Ih.. or at least last time I checked they did. LS was also the maker of the failed Montana that JB Hunt tried to import. Rural king certainly has the money to make it work if they can . I think they are up to about 93 stores no so if they could get the tractors in all the stores would be a big deal. For years Stihl chain saws said they would never go to BOX STORES but RK now has Stihl products in some stores so never can say never. Will be interesting to see how the tractor thing works out. At a true LS dealer the comparable tractor is no cheaper than Same feature Kubota or John Deer. As always parts and service support will come to play at some time.

RK tractors might not make it but I bet TYM will survive. I looked at TYM and LS (38-41HP ) and they are impressive machines. Compare their stats, power, weight, hydraulics etc, I found that they were ahead of the competitors. I ended up buying a MF 245 though.

Neighbor bought a YTM 55 with loader and cab. He likes his except for checking
the oil and servicing the engine. He claims it hard to get to them, something
about the hood and loader makes it hard to do.

TYM produced some of the Montana tractors. I know of 3 in my area. All have hydraulic
issues and no parts to repair them. The TYM dealer near here don't want to even talk about
a Montana. OH buy the way they have Deere engines.

Cabela's tractors were overpriced like everything else in their stores, if I remember correctly, and obviously did not sell well.

I wish Rural King well, but on things like tractors people expect to haggle on the price and feel like they're getting a deal, not have a 16 year old girl run a UPC code across a scanner and ask if you want the extended warranty plan.

Just looked at some of the TYM tractors on tractor data & they have Perkins, Cat., Kubota, Mitsubishi, Yanmar, JD, & Cummins engines on different models. Looks like maybe low-bidder.

Cabelea, Menards, it's all been tried before.

I sure don't trust that parts will be around when the tractor gets to the age where it will start needing parts.

These short line, branded tractors come and go, no stability to thrm. It's a throw away item, and I can't throw away that kind of money.

My little Mahindra is made by TYM, with a Daedong (Kioti in the US) engine. So far it has been a good little workhorse.

These are built by TYM, same as Cabela's is/was. TYM also manufactures under own brand, and Mahindra here in the states. As for the engines, these are Yanmar, built in USA, also used by Yanmar/Cub Cadet Yanmar and John Deere (built by Yanmar!). In South Korea, TYM has licensing with Caterpillar, thus the Cat and Perkins (owned by Cat) engines.
