kilt the yanmar !! AGAIN

Blowed the rings into the oil pan trying to start the dum thing , it is YANMAR 2220D ,, at least its runnin now but it is pukin oil out the vavle cover tub e,bad blow by i cant pull I to start because I am alone,,. so I was giving it a dose of ether to start it after changing fuel filter,, musta had a air pokt somewhere ,, could not get much more than a put r put nuthin ,, had fuel comin thru the fuel returns , no air , I was alternating between glow plugs and then comin back 5 minutes later and trying ether, and I guess I just got a little over zealous with the ether and didn't let the the glow plugs cool enuf,,. she went KAW -POW !! blowed off the air filter cap,, and probably shredded a compression ring,,.the motor don't make any noise like a ring is side cokt but I would bet I wilol have to sleeve the little stikr ,, I will yank the injector pump while it is down and try to figure out why the hale it is so hard to staert ,,this thang has really got my goat ,,.

But, you did find out why you should never use ether after using the glow plugs.....at least not in the same day....

Small compacts and starting fluid is not a good mix,I have an AC 5020 here now with a broke crank shaft that the owner used ether on it.

I would think cold start problems would be more related to low compression than injector pump problems, unless its a timing issue.

Sounds like my Fiat Oliver. Great tractor,but if you run it out of fuel,better have some help towing because it ain't gonna start any other way.

got fine compression , or rather it did ,,.this is a grey market tractor that started poorly when I got it 10 yrs ago ,, I used nano energizer on it . my cummins diesel ,and a misfiring 430 case ,,. all seemed to improve for awhile ,.then they got harder and harder to keep runnin ok ,.. first fix was the 430 , the pump seals were like chewing gum ,, the injectors were trash as well but all were rebuildable ,,.NOW it runs great ,,. then the lift pump quit on my cummins . filled up the crankcase with diesel , not a good thing it only had 300 ,000 miles,,. new injectors , pump rebuild to the tune of 12 00bux , yanmar never got fixt ,,. but it will have the pumpand injectors gone thru ,,.. no more nano energizer for me nano - NO- NO
