Picked this up this am. Thought you might be interested since if you use it you usually use your tractor to dispense it.

The people stirring the pot about round-up is the World Health Organization a part of the United Nations. The same organization behind many EPA regulations.

If someone wants to go and drink Roundup, have at it. I'm certain pretty much anything outside of pure water will cause cancer or some illness of some kind if you get enough of it into you.

few days ago I googled cancer causing chemicals in California( because we know everthing causes cancer in California) , I came up with a list of over 900 chemicals , looked on 2 different list , one from UC Berkley and the other was some state thing , , both lists looked the same and no where could I find glyphosate on that list,I did find caffeine, gas fumes , diesel fumes , alcohol, nicotine, atrazine , acetoclor, and a couple of my favorites, wood dust and coconut oil,,,ive come to the conclusion any thing is bad for you if you over use it , oh and this list was updated 1/27/2017

I apply Roundup, 2,4d, Barrier, etc. all with a hand held sprayer. Been doing it that way for 35 plus years. I get it on my hands and sometimes the mist blows back onto my face. I just wash it all off when done. Never experienced any ill effects.

In todays world, "if you don't eat anything, drink anything or breath anything.....you won't die of cancer." Just sayin'

It was on the news a couple nights ago that there is one chemical in Roundup that causes Lymphoma. which is the type of cancer that I am being treated for.

Keep in mind that the chemical companies have lots of money to hire lawyers, PR reps and lobbyists to keep people from learning the truth about their products. Chemical companies have no more ethics than the electronic industry.

Monsanto stopped making political contributions to a certain political party a few years back. Thats when they became a monster that produces awful cancer causing pesticides. Just like any chemical I would use the proper PPE for roundup to avoid contact. But as far as pesticides go roundup is one of the safest. I would be more cautious of the generic Chinese stuff, who knows what they mix in it to get rid of?

I saw a post on facebook a week or so ago, had a picture of a guy with a beer in one hand, a cigar in the other...

"Everything's going to kill you. Might as well pick something you like!"

I saw a rep at an ag show in Lodi drink a shot glass of Roundup. he said it tastes awful but did it to prove no ill effects.

That is what they told us about Agent Orange. Made with 2 4D along with some other nasty things.Of the 14 I went over with there is only two of us alive. Soon to be one. An the VA is doing it's best to make sure we are both gone. Got a letter from them yesterday. After four years of sending them paper work. The can't find my 214.

Be careful with any poison it can hurt you.

24D and glyphosate (Roundup) are pretty safe things that work on plants, not mammals. We need to keep watch and we shouldn't trust the fox to watch the henhouse, but the way these 2 products work and the many years of testing and experience, says we are better off with than without them.

It's a real black eye the way the govt has treated our military person ell from the Agent Orange days. That stuff was a mix of 24D (which is fine) and 24T (which is completely different and very bad for humans). Monsanto, which made agent orange for the govt, even said to the govt this is bad bad stuff.... The govt peop,e sitting in offices at the time said it was fine, we are only spraying land and the enemy, won't be a problem. Actually out on the battlefield all sorts of friend and foe got downed with the stuff in actual use, no one ever got together on all that and communicated......

Herbicides were fairly new back then, and the govt wanted something that would kill back the jungle in a fast way back them, dang the consequences of it....

And now it's hushed up and swept under the rug, it's a bad deal our govt should do better.

24D was and is not the problem tho. Very clearly from near the beginning, Monsanto itself said 24T is a bad thing but the govt ordered it to make it. sime complaint, selfish groups out there intentionally confuse the public and misinform about 24D as being Agent Orange or that Monsanto is totally responsible for the ipuse of Agent Orange. I think that is a pretty bad deal as well.

This is my understanding of it all.

The other nasty things are 2,4,5-T plus 2 4D. Doesn't really matter to me and the other vets that suffer from it. All we know is that we are dying when we should,t be. Years of pain and suffering while. The VA says there is nothing wrong with us.As I posted I am in my fifth year of fighting them. Just to get them to find my records. They lost just before a rating exam. Makes you wonder. Seems everytime I send in paper work it seems to get lost. They have now lost mt VSO's paperwork. I think they must pay some one to lose files.

I have some friends and relatives who say the same thing about their smoking. Of course, they are all under fifty.

Thank you for your service, and I"m always sorry when I read your posts about post-service issues. Just wondering when you say they can"t find your DD214- didn"t you file the original at your County Registrar of Deeds when you returned from Nam? That"s what I was instructed to do, and I can get a copy any time I need one.

Speaking of the VA's handling of Agent Orange claims by Viet Nam vets, I will offer this info, for whatever it's worth:

I know a woman whose husband was an enlisted man in the Air Force. He was a crew member in one of those planes equipped with special radar or sonar, think they may have called AWACs. He served in VN for only about three months. I have no idea how he might have been exposed to Agent Orange, or to what degree. However, about ten years ago he was diagnosed with Parkinson's, and the symptoms began to manifest rather quickly. He died in 2010, but from a blood clot during knee replacement surgery.

Prior to his death his wife, a diligent, enterprising sort, talked to a veteran's service officer who suggested that her husband might be entitled to Agent Orange disability pay. He recommended some other individual or agency which would serve as their advocate in seeking this disability designation. Long story short, he was declared to have an Agent Orange disability, and he began receiving a disability payment (about $1,200 a month, I think), which is still being paid to his wife.

I have no particular point to make with this story other than to point out that some veterans apparently have received compensation for AO-related problems. That they have done so may be due to the diligence of their advocate rather than the relative merits of their claim. The secret may be to get the right person working your claim. I don't know how you would find that person, however.

It is not a problem sending in a 214. It is getting the VA to do there job.I have a file full of them. I have had.

VA office in Montana send in paperwork. Got lost.
VSO in Rusk Texas send in paper work. Got lost.
Mental agency in Houston send in paper. Got lost.
VSO in Houston send in paper work. Got lost.
I have sent in paper work. Got lost.

Monday they sent in a request for my ssn to the Rusk VSO. Said the couldn't make it out on my 214.This morning they. Send the same VSO a request a copy of my 214. Said they had never received one. Clearly a lie. I think the VA problem goes deeper than most think. I have meet up with a group around here. That is having the same problem. Next step is a lawyer.

We are not a bunch of hero's bragging on ourselves. Not looking for more than we deserve. Just a bunch of farmers and ranchers looking for the help we were promised. We all understand that healthcare is pretty much useless for us.Not long to live. But the back pay they owe us. Would help the one's we leave behind.

I wonder if the WHO doesn't have the same thing on their list.

I think I read where California was thinking of banning round up and it stated there is no evidence it causes cancer.

ALL NUTS.

(quoted from post at 12:02:33 03/24/17) I have some friends and relatives who say the same thing about their smoking. Of course, they are all under fifty.

About a dozen of my high school class of 57 meet for breakfast once a month. 4 of them are sucking O2.

Not too long ago it was in the news that a college frat. hazing incident of just that, forced to drink too much water killed a guy.

I had terminal (so they thought) Lymphoma diagnosed in Feb, 2013. 6 chemo treatments ending in Sept. and it's gone bye bye. Get semi annual checkups and all systems are normal. I'm over 75. Feel better than when I was 50.

Good luck on your treatment. Idea is to kill the disease before the treatment kills the patient.

On the DD214, when I applied for SS the SS office had it on their computer. Didn't need a copy from me.

You can't compare a few minutes of exposure a each year to namvet's 24/7 for months. We had to breathe it sleep in it drink the water & you didn.t get a shower every day!!!!
Don't ask how I know!!

What I've gathered is that the fundamental problem was during the manufacture of the 2,4,5-T if it got too hot then Dioxin was also produced. Dioxin is way bad stuff. The companies knew it was an issue (I think Dow was a contract producer as well) in the late 40's when they started ramping up production for the government and informed the government that the production process was less than perfect.

Probably got lost in the beaurocratic shuffle (along with your paperwork).

Well when they say they can't make out my SS from my 214. Then they claim they never received my 214. Makes me think some one is lying. The VSO I have is one that will put the pressure on. Wants answers

Roundup and Atrazine are already found in most cornbelt wells, streams and rivers. Who knows how long they will remain or what the effects will be.
