John Deere 60

I bought a John Deere 60 and the fan bracket was cracked. I replaced it only to find out the fan vibrates excessively which is why the bracket probably cracked to begin with. Anyone know what might be wrong with it.

3 things come to mind #1 bearings #2 out of balance #3 bent or cracked blade

Also could be an issue of wear in the friction drive hub area causing the fan to run off-center.

The balls of the bearing at the end of the shaft have separated from the cage and are piling up together. Time to rebuild the shaft.

Green Magazine has a video that shows how to open up the govenor to remove and install the fan shaft without busting anything.
