JD owners revolt

Again, sensationalized BS.

First off, what's the average farmer going to "repair" on a modern tractor with all the electronics anyway? You need a diagnostic computer to figure out what's wrong, which costs about as much as the tractor itself.

Second off, it only applies to SOFTWARE. You can "repair" any mechanical bit of the tractor you want. What you can't do is alter the software, which is understandable, because if you cluck it up, you'll run crying to Deere begging them to fix it. Then they have to figure out what you did, and undo it.

Sometimes that mechanical part has a sensor connected to the motherboard. The sensor needs to removed and reinstalled, and then the whole system needs to be rebooted. Only an authorized John Deere service tech can do that.

I keep looking for the computer on my John Deere, but haven't found it yet. They musta hid them good on a 60.... Maybe it's in the gasoline tank?
