Dead crawler in Iceland

Occasionally I post pics from my travels in Iceland. Here's one of my favorites from few years ago. IH crawler at edge of big sheep farm and stone's throw from the waters of the fjord. Friend there told me the power plant in this machine was made by Rolls Royce.

Just found this one from same time, different area. Sitting by itself at top of a high pass, was headed to friend's farm and stopped to take a pic. How or why it got there a mystery. Heading back home it was gone.

Just one more (I'm looking for some other pics but keep running across these). This was road to some big waterfalls. Good stretch of road here, later on it got rough.

It is an International BTD20, power unit is a Rolls-Royce C series Diesel, 135 flywheel H.P. They were built at Doncaster England by I-H
G.B. Ltd from '59 to '74 and had a pretty good reputation.

Here is a web site for the Agricultural
Museum of Iceland.

Have you ever been there? I visited it back
in the 90s when I was stationed at Keflavik
in the Air Force. They had what was back
then a huge old tractor setting outside.

Richard, thanks for the info on the tractor. Gary, no never been--will be there in June, sure to check it out then, thnx. Driven past many absndoned farms, looked like tough going--lots of rocks, shallow soil, no trees. Just a hard life.

Sweetfeet thank you! I took this with little point n shoot which I thought was pretty good at the time. Now my phone takes MUCH better pics lol!

Here also, phone takes better pics than my digital cameras ever did (for closer shots anyway... my phone is not good for distant shots).
