allis chalmers (C) Loader

I Might have an idea to use a allis C and put a loader on it for light work loading manure and such but nothing to hard. but my idea is to mount the loader backwards. so it would be more maneuverable in tight places. has anyone done this. would it be to much of a pain or is it a good idea? or should I just put it on the front and be done with it. I'm not sure if the front end could handle the loader being mounted there because I've never been around these tractors before. I think it would be cool and something different. on the other hand cool isn't always functional. let me know your thoughts. Colin.

while I would not consider a C as being a loader tractor, it should work. I had three Massey Ferguson forklifts which were actually a tractor in reverse they did take a beating when a load would come off the forks if the steering wheels were off the ground. Henderson did make a loader for the B Farmall which is similar to what you have. Another neighbor had a Case VAC with a Henderson trip bucket loader and used it like a dozer. He never tore it up but I have wondered how he avoided. there were rear loaders for the smaller Ford tractors that were not great but beat a pitchfork.

Many moons ago, before the skid steer was invented, there was an outfit called
the Honey Bee. It was a loader mounted on a reversed Farmall BN.
Very handy in small livestock pens, also used at bulk fertilizer plants.
No down pressure on the bucket, but the load was over the drive wheels, good traction.

Henderson did make loaders for the C Allis, but it is common to reverse a WC or WD and mount the loader on the rear. I did my WD in the 70s. Fantastic traction, and easy to see what"s being loaded. Great for rock picking.
