I know people come and go on here, but, I was thinking of a long time poster that I don't see anymore, any one know what happened to Delta Red? I always liked his posts and pics, along with his helpful advice.

Alan in NE, Dave 2 from a long time ago, I've had several different handles in the 10-12 years I've hung out here.

Jay,

I believe it was Wheatfarmer (in the last couple of weeks), who posted on Delta Red's behalf that his computer went on the fritz... and perhaps not in the budget to replace it right at this time.

Wheatfarmer also said that he himself, has not been on here much due to losing his wife this past summer.

Hopefully both of them will be back when it works for them. I always enjoyed both of their posts.

Hard to say. People's priorities change. I don't think he has had the best of times recently so maybe he has had to work off the farm quite a bit or the enthusiasm is not there to participate here. Then there is the possibility he is no longer with us. The end sometimes comes sooner than later for some of us. Hopefully, he is alright and will come back. It really should not matter how successful someone is or is not to be here. If somebody wants to gloat about their success as a farmer they probably would have other boards to do that on versus being here.

a few weeks ago someone,i don't remember name said it was his last post because he only had a few days to live.thought of him a few days ago and wonder if he is at piece and out of pain.

How about the gentleman that wrote this was his last post and he would be passing shortly from colon? cancer. Does anyone have a obit for him. That post touched me.

I have always wondered since I do not know anyone on here personally. If I did tonight would I be missed? How would you guys know. Like all the others here in this post. Seems the Dave 2 was a us guy in Germany . He got banned about time Lyle Nemi and a few more did. Lots of knowledge here man just has to take it for what it is worth. I miss the guy Lou from Wisconsin I think, one that spent so much rebuilding the little oliver loader.

I have been thinking of him also, I have looked at the memorial forum several times since.

I recall two who come to mind. I forgot the names but one had a farm and owned large-at-the- time machinery and since his retirement owned a couple one row offset Farmalls; I think one was a Super A and the other may have been a 140. he liked the offsets and told some stories that sounded like exaggerations. I share some of the feelings as I have a 986 and also have a B and super A. When I tell people what the small tractors can do they think I am lying.
the other fellow was from Australia and worked on track type tractors. He told of making extremely large wrenches.
Another was the expert welder T Bone.

I liked them and trusted their opinions

How bout Wizzo? If some of these guys had opened their email, someone could have checked on them. I understand people don't like to give their email out, but it's confidential, you don't necessarily have to respond to it, and the only people that would be contacting you would be people with like interests. You could also block them on your email if you didn't want to receive any emails from them any longer.

On the other two forums I'm a member on, they have Private Message capability. Is that not possible here? That way you can privately pass more personal info to others in the forum. The biggest drawback that I can see from that is, many people will simply have educational chats in private about things that could benefit others. One of the forums is rather slow, so there are days when there are many people who spend hours online, yet not one new post is made by anyone. The other forum is more active than this one so still plenty of posts to keep things active. ...Neither of these two other forums are tractor-related.

Another idea might be to have an email link for each member, but something akin to Craigslist where it goes through the forum servers, so that no email addresses need be given out unless by choice.

Sorry to get off-topic.

There is a private email option here, you
just have to turn it on. See at the bottom
of your posts where it says "no email"? And
mine says "send email"? That's what that
does.

If someone wants to communicate privately, they will open their e-mail in their post, and you can simply go to the lower RH corner and click the send e-mail icon. Once you respond, they will have your e-mail addy and you can chat with them via e-mail totally independent of this site.

Thank you RBoots. Still trying to figure out how to set up a special gmail account for YT.com, but will get that going soon. ...I hope! :-/

Yeah it seems people just come and go. Miss seeing Allan in NE, Hugh McKay, bison... To name a few. God bless to those who have passed on.

I think some of you guy's are going to have to dig a bit deeper. Cloony,(I think that might be spelled correct) who was one of the best on all those two banger John Deere's. Frank in Tallahassee, known as (FIT). Also great with them old tractor's. I could keep going but I would have to think to hard on it anymore. Ya' I guess I have been here to long maybe.

I try my best to never insult anyone. I believe I qualify as intellectual. I believe you refer to individuals that choose to impose rudeness into the forum by being judgmental and merciless. They are (opinion) not intellectual they fail that test. Jim

Thank goodness one of them is Tree Farm.

He now <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/12/joseph-losinski-73-senten_n_2289450.html">lives in a "gated community"</a> in Colorado.

The guy I enjoyed reading was Kelly C and his Farmall and haying posts. Wonder what happened to him?

Also enjoyed Hugh Mackay.

I agree with your accesment however I would add that some are insulted or think they are being attacked just because an opposing opinion is posted. Another factor is some just can't get past the fact that posting often or over many years doesn't give them the right to act as they please. Along with those I miss I could tabulate a pretty long good riddance list if I was so inclined., LOL.

I am glad someone mentioned Hugh McKay. He was the one who posted the virtues of the Farmall offsets. His posts showed that it does not take a big tractor to do a lot of work. bigger is not always needed.

Ive been on here for at least ten years, probably more but not too sure. I haven't posted much, try to help from time to time. Do remember one certain poster from PA that really jumped me hard one time. An individual asked a question on a repair for his "Allis-Chambers" tractor. I answered all of his questions and at the end mentioned the correct spelling was "Allis-Chalmers". Well this person from PA jumped down my throat like I had shot the guy or something. I just shrugged it off because it was just a person on the internet and nothing more. I do admit I spied his other posts and found that he basically did his bet to insult and belittle people.

I should have kept my mouth shut on the spelling but I don't believe I deserved such a treatment, haven't seen his name for a few years and cant say I miss him.

There are several guys that I email privately from time to time. Even a few that have been banned. Good place to meet up with new friends you never would have met otherwise.

I agree! I'm glad Tree Farm (and all his other handles) lost interest and left. I never could figure out why he kept antagonizing you so, James.

I always appreciated FIT's postings - especially about his 70 JD and chemical cleaning of parts. I emailed him & posted asking him some questions several years ago and never heard anything back, so I didn't know if he got new hobbies - or if something had happened.

I also liked seeing bison & puddles postings...

I also wondered whatever happened to the fellow in Texas that posted he was so depressed and was thinking of ending it all. I can't think of his handle - it has been several years ago. I didn't ever see a post from him after that.

"John A" was a friend of mine from high school. He passed away suddenly from cancer a couple of years ago.

I hope DeltaRed is OK.

Steve "Delta Red" hasn't posted on his Facebook page since January. Hope he is ok. Allen in NE is alive and well. Hugh McKay passed a few years back. Wizzo or David In Wales also posts on various forums from time to time under various names.

Walt Davies - not sure what became of him, his wife had passed if I recall, and he had some health issues as well.

Back in the late 90's a fellow called himself IHank from Iowa, maybe near Ankeny disappeared,,,did he get tossed out? Leo

Janicholson, you have a way of sharing your professional advice in a common, factual, non offensive way. Keep on sharing with us.

One of my first posts, if not the first post, was some advice to a person about a quick way to check for crankshaft endplay using the clutch lever on a two banger Deere. Another poster chewed on me for the way I went about giving the advice. My first reaction was to desert this site but then another guy came on and chewed on the guy who chewed on me. This guy must have been a troublemaker because he didn't stay on this forum long. I obviously have stayed around but in the beginning I threatened to leave a few times because of certain comments to my posts. Then I got a thicker skin and decided to accept it. Sometimes we just have a bad day and we don't realize how abrasive we are.

Ha, I actually had another word before intellectual, but I decided I better take it off. I have no problems with you, Jim. In fact, theres only a couple of people on here I just scroll on past now.

heard FIT moved to a different site several years ago. I was in contact with him years ago and found out he was from about 25 mile from me here in Ohio.

I haven't had the best of physical health since I retired and recently lost my 3 best friends which has knocked me down mentally very badly.

I posted photos of the Welsh scenery and farming practices but a few people made some unkind comments.

My life style and interests have changed, as forums in USA and in Britain change. - some people come and go, some even start up their own forums.

I've remained friends with Glen from Friona in Texas [the mag specialist] by email regularly.

Sorry to hear about the bad luck and
situations that have befallen you David.
Glad to hear from you and that you're doing
OK at least. Always enjoyed the pics you
posted. Nevermind the jerks that say stuff
about the pics you post, there's always
someone hiding behind the internet making
off color comments about other posters and
just being jerks in general as it makes
themselves feel better about their life and
situation. Best of luck my friend.

Ross
