bluetooth earpiece for driving

I need a new blue tooth headphone for spring. I have a Bose that works great if you worked in a office and didn't move around much but it is always falling out jumping off tractors or trucks or fixing or moving around. I have heard that Plantronic legends are good any opinions out there. I'm not a fan of over the head style. My boss and our dispatcher wants to keep in contact and we all no we are supposed to be hands free while driving.. I figured somebody must have a favorite. I enjoy the great variety we have on this sight lots of great topics. Jim

I have an LG Tone Pro, semi halo hangs over your neck with corded earbuds.
Decent sound, makes great earplugs and I have phone, Google, radio, podcasts, etc. Use it for hours every day while doing chores, keeps me up to date and connected to everything. Cost me 60 bucks.

I use a Blue Parrot. It is an over the head style (do you want fry's with that?). It works great. In the last 8 years, I Wore out 1, and Broke 1. I run the wheels off mine every day, and would recommend it to others. I can hear you and you can hear me when I am running down the road in the truck or on the noisy ol forklift.
You can see different ones at many truck stops. Definitely cheaper online.

I also use the Blue Parrot because it's the only one I can understand people with. I tried a bunch before the Blue Parrot and junked them all. I think I've had 3 in about 5 or 6 years. I understand it is over the head and not what you were after, sorry.

Lower priced plantronics, run away! Third vote for blue parrot. Best for noise canceling and sound both ways. 250 or 350.

Another Blue Parrot fan. Very good noise-canceling microphone so you can be heard and hear even over the noise of a truck.
Have had 2 of them. First one I thought went bad but when I bought the second one I found out it was the charging wire that was bad.
I bought the over the head model B250-XT Cost 99.99 at most truck stops.

Blue Parrot makes models that are not over the head and fit in your ear but I have never used one of them.

Back again, I have no problem hearing calls on my Tone Pro being that the earbuds are very effective ear plugs. Others hear me fine if I throttle back the tractor. You can also use just 1 side but I always use both to keep the volume down. Also a must for listening to music

I used to have good luck with Motorola 730 series; I say 'used to' because they completely suck now. I just use the speaker function on the phone now, or call back when I am stopped somewhere.

i have a Planatronics with the boom mic. I got the case for it that will recharge it. Never have to worry about not enough battery. Which ever way you go make sure you get the boom mic. The boomless ones make you sound nasally and catch a lot of background noise.

I'll fourth the blue parrot. The batteries have improved significantly over the last ten years. Mine will last a couple weeks easily. Hang it overhead on the shelf in the freightliner, or on the trailer brake knob in the Pete's. Bluetooth on in the phone, when it rings, just pop it on my ear and turn it on, and answer the call.

Boomless mics don't catch my voice, mini-booms I couldn't hear, they weren't loud enough. Went through a lot of different corded and Bluetooth ear pieces before the blue parrot came out.

I got the 250, online reviews of the 350 were unfavorable.

If your stereo has an auxiliary port, get a cord to plug your phone into it. Put the phone on speaker and the audio comes over your stereo speakers for a back-up.
