Long Lived Battery

Once in awhile the topic of battery life shows up here whether it be short or long life. My 2003 Durango showed the first signs of needing a new battery yesterday, it is the same one that came with the truck when I purchased it new in late 2002. Pretty good ! I have seen some Motorcraft and Delco OEM installed batteries go almost as long, but this is the new king for me personally.

That's fantastic! I never have that kinda luck. Go right down and get one just like it today. No need to try and get a few more months out of it as it owes you nothing and it will not fail completely while parked in your shop, instead it will happen in the most inopportune place and time.

I have had an Autocraft Titanium battery in my HotRod truck since 2006 and it is still working well(knock on wood). I keep it on the 'Battery Tender' when not in use and put it in the basement on the tender in the winter.

You never know, I purchased 2 identical batteries for two different tractors at Napa on the same day. One lasted about 2 months beyond the 3 yr. warranty the other is still going strong after 7 years.

Had a six volt last about that long but have been having a battery epidemic since last fall. One in my snow blower garden tractor, the original in wife's 09 Equinox, my 2013 Chevy pick/up and yesterday a 4 year old batt. in another garden tractor.

We had a pair of batteries in a large diesel tractor. If I recall correctly, they were Partsmaster brand from a local auto parts store. They lasted just over 13 years, which is quite impressive in a machine with a diesel engine. My dad also just replaced the batteries in his Dodge diesel pickup after 13 years, too.
