Answered the phone today and a guy asked if I was Ken. I said, this is Ken. He said, I couldn't hear you, is this Ken? I told him, this is Ken. There was a bit of silence then he said, you won 2.5 million dollars. Would you like to collect that. I asked, I won 1.2 million? No, he said. You won 2.5 million. Would you like to collect that? I asked him how I had won that. He told me it was through a drawing and, would you like to collect that? I told him I hadn't entered a drawing. He told me I didn't have to enter, it was computer generated, would you like to collect that Money? I asked him if he could hold for a second while I thought about it and then it happened. The aerosol powered boat horn I was playing with accidentally went off while it was aimed at the phone. I lasted about two seconds. I apologized and asked if he was still there. I guess he hung up because of an accidental horn blast. I'm kinda thinking that I'm not gonna get my 2.5 million. Just my luck.

Our dear old late Aunt Susie used to love those calls. She was home-bound, in a wheel-chair, and she would launch off "OH I'm SO glad you called, I've been wanting all day to tell someone about these misbehaving kitties, Sam here jumped on the table and ALMOST knocked off the jars, but then little Fred......" And off she'd go into the ozone until they hung up. Ever so often she'd pause and ask you still there, aren't you?? She loved it.

Not what you didn't get... That is a fleeting illusion. It is what you could have lost had thst scammer got into your accounts. There's a scammer born every minute.

Yes that is a new scam tactic, they ask you a question wanting you to say "yes" then the record that and use it in a sanario where they ask if you accept the charges or agreement..

You're only kidding yourself if you think it was loud enough to damage his hearing from a telephone receiver. The earpiece of the phone he was holding is simply not capable of reproducing a sound of that magnitude. At most, you annoyed him a bit, and he hung up.

I saw in a movie once when someone's telephone was bugged, the guy fired a pistol next to the mouthpiece.

Of course, in the movie the fellow listening to the bug got his ear blown out.

You may have been scammed. A new scam out there. They call you and ask is this (your name here)?. you say Yes. THEY ARE RECORDING YOU. They then charge things to you. Add them to bills, send you things, etc. and they have your voice recording that proves you said "yes" to them. Really messes up your credit

Are you telling us that you would purposefully use the horn blast to damage someone's hearing? Hmmm, that's a sad situation if you would want that to happen. Why not just hang up or tell him you're not interested? If he came to your front door with the same scam, would you punch him in the nose or just say "sorry, not interested?"

Beings how the thief was on the phone and not face to face - yes I would intentionally harm his hearing and my only regret would be the fact I would only harm one ear. The next person he calls to prey upon might be my mother - or your mother in an attempt to steal everything she owned. Had a person tried to make the same attempt face to face his hearing would be the least of his worries.

I guess just screwing up his one ear makes it OK then. What the heck, a little more violence in the world is probably a good thing.

Had a call the other day and guy asked told me that I was elligable for a money loan and asked how much I needed,I told him 20 million$,he hung up,havent heard from them since.

Realy ticks me off when phone rings and I am under tractor, truck,or just takeing a leak and there is no one on the other end of phone line.

Agreed. A little violence goes a long ways to ending the acts of criminals.
